Blog updates and news.
After the wordpress 2.5 installation and the new theme (with the new logo), I’ve decided to fix some major bugs reported by some users and (why not?) I’ve added a new feature too for testing.
Changes for 4.51:
- Fixed appointments display bug of start date (used to show 00:00)
- Fixed Button left from context/project properties popup after closing
- Updated Go to folder folders list is now sorted
- Added Orphans list at the tools section showing items with no context AND no project
- German language update
You can download the update from the downloads page.
Thanks for your bug reporting everyone!

Sorry mate, but it looks your links to the zip versions are dead ends.
Great stuff monsieur.
I still need to figure out how to use it to its optimum with my smartphone as well (pocket outlook).

Thanks for the info. Just fixed those!
Unfortunately I don’t have a windows smartphone to test it. Does it run on that too?

Pocket outlook just do synchronize tasks but as far as as I remember it has some synchronoziation issues with custom categories.
Afterwards the problem on the windows mobile device will be set the appropriate filters I guess not to be overwelmed by the tons of tasks such GTD system can generate.
In essence, to further investigate.

I moved my “My Documents” folder back to the normal location.
Then I installed the new 4.51 version, and had it reset the homepage assignment in outlook.
Still points to
“file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/sergio/My%20Documents/Unzipped/JelloDash43/jelloDash.htm”
and still get the message.
“Cannot run outside of Outlook
Just assign it as a home page to an Outlook folder”
Any Ideas?
(Again, I am running this on Office XP. (I had office 2K when I originally installed, and then found out I needed Office XP, so I installed that, and reinstalled Jello, — not sure if that makes any dif)

Nicolas,
You mentioned a GTD software list in an aside. Another list the Interactive GTD Software Comparsion Table. It’s not just a wiki, but a list that is actually researched and verified, so all the titles in it are truly GTD-supporting. Jello.Dashboard has been listed there for a long time.

This is way more helpful than antyihng else I’ve looked at.

@anjo
Glad you liked it!
@Manu
Pocket Outlook is a separate case. Some users used it but I guess not in jello’s full potential. I cannot test it (no ms device)
@Ben
This message usually appears in corrupted Outlook installations. Maybe a repair of office installation will solve this.
@Kevin
I follow Priacta.com’s list months before. My most incoming links are from there. It’s the best GTD comparision site there is and of course it will be added here as a permanent link and there will be a post too.
Site redesign is a long process and some things need more time to be done!
Thanks

Hello Nicolas!
Unfortunately 4.51 seems to be a drawback for me. Everything is working but took a lot more time. Starting Jello 120 sec in comparison to 80 with last version. Any idea what I should tweak in my settings? (I am working in an Exchange server environment, maybe this slows down at all).
Discounting this little drawback – great work!
Thanks Marc

Fact: Jellos’ mail inbox view does have the feature to directly set a category or project to the selected mail(s). After setting a tag the mail selection gets lost and the first mail is selected automatically.
Wish: Jello keeps my mail selection so that I can set an additional tag (i.e. another category or project)

btw (@Marc): my outlook got slowed down too with 4.51 and I’m not working in exchange environment.

Yeap! Speed is getting out of hand, so I’m thinking radical changes for the next release!

Question, why are there grey titles in my projects listings. They work…they are just grey, rather than the normal blue. Can not figure out why. I am sure that it is a designation of some sort. But seems to be beyond me. Thanks in advance.

Opps, should comment that I have looked for a long time for a management system. This is the best of the lot. I have always used my email to track my to do’s and now….it is all in one place. great job

@Michelle
Those projects are grey because you have set them as private.
Simple as that!

Nice program, I use it now for more than 4 months.
I have one litle problem, I can’t select a project from the combobox in the sidebar.(most of the time the first attempt is working) It close instantly before I can select my project???
Feature request: When I use the asign combo box (I use tasks only option) a task will be created. Is it posible to edit the task before saving? In this way i can edit the subject to a better discription instead of the email subject.

Is it possible to save/restore Jello settings into/from external file? I would like to backup settings on some media to be able to transfer it to another computer(s).

@Robin
If you are having problems using the contexts as combo, switch to list from your settings screen.
Your feature request needs to be re-assigned after the next release
@Pavel journal entry, open it and save it as an msg file. You can then drop it into another outlook installation.
Its is really easy. Just find the
